I was so nervous about going to Mexico for surgery but the cost was too tempting. I went alone but made friends at the airport with other patients. A couple things didn't go as planned: the color of the van, the hotel name, times of pickup etc but nothing major. Once I saw the hotel I felt relieved because it was very nice. Surgery went great. The only thing I will say is they do not give narcotic pain meds. Us Americans are very spoiled when it comes to pain so let me tell you now BRING YOUR OWN PAIN MEDS. The second day after surgery was down right miserable. They do give ibuprofen which helps take the edge off but you will
Want something stronger for the cramps from the gas pain. The actual surgery doesn't hurt at all. Just that gas they blow you up with. The following days were not too bad at all though and I recovered quickly. I have recovered nicely and lost over 50 pounds. I started at 180 and now I'm in the 130's maybe even 120's. I even came back with my daughter a month later and she had the sleeve as well. She isn't as far along as I am in recovery but she's getting there. It's hard to get back to regular food. Heartburn, nausea, dizziness, fatigue are all big issues the first month or two. Still better than being a fat ass! But after I was able to start working out I bounced back super fast. I love it and I would do it again in a second. Go for it! It's legit. Just bring a couple percs or something :-)
