My weight had been increasing very steady since about menopause and I had tried every kind of diet. I was still able to lose some weight but always gained it back as soon as I stopped "depriving"myself. The more weight I gained ,the less active I became and if I tried to excercise there was always pain involved and my legs and ankles were so swollen.I was very discouraged. My brother and his wife had both had the gastric sleeve done and they were happy with their decision. I didn't see them very often so I wasn't following the weight loss closely.
Then in the summer of last year my friend's mother,Jane came to visit her and I spent some time with her. She is a dear christian woman and always takes good care of her body. She is a vibrant and very mobile lady who told me that she takes taking care of her "temple"seriously as it houses the Holy Spirit. She really started me thinking and I felt the Spirit convicting me as I had basically given up even trying to get my weight down. I prayed about it and felt that I should have the surgery. At my heaviest I was 237 lbs and I am only 5'1" although I was a few pounds less at the time of my gastric sleeve. When I told my husband that I wanted to go to Tijuana to have the surgery done, he was not supportive but said he would come with me.On October 16,2016 I went for the surgery and have not been sorry even once. It is a new way of eating and a different life style I have now which I am so grateful for. Last week I played a basketball game against my son's team. I feel that I have a whole new life and I am still losing weight although very slowly now.I went from a size 18 or 20 pants to the last pair of jeans I bought were size 12.(wooHoo)I now weigh 184 lbs. Praise God and thank you Weight Loss Agents.
