Hello, I had the sleeve surgery 4 months ago and I waited to give my testimony to make sure I could talk about the whole experience.
First, the staff (from customer service to the surgeon including the drivers and nurses) is incredibly amazing. You will be safe, pampered and cared for from beginning to end!
Second, the facility is really clean and well maintained, just be ready to share a room with another patient which is not bad because you will need all the support you can get.
Third, the other patients (mainly americans) will become "your best friends" from the day of surgery. I met amazing ladies with who I'm still in contact.
Finally, the surgery itself is very quick. What I struggled the most with is the recovery. Everyone is different but my personal experience with recovery didn't go well. I was in really bad pain (mainly gas) and was vomitting a lot. The 1st night was a nightmare for me. Then I was starting to feel better but on the 2nd day after the surgery, for the X-ray, they make you drink a disgusting fluid that made me sick again. It took me about 6 weeks to feel better BUT after 4 months now I feel amazing and I lost 56 lbs (from 214 lbs on the day of surgery to 158 lbs today 2/18/17). I just followed the diet that was provided and still eat small quatities. I have been doing 20/30 min cardio for about 2 months, 2/3 times a week.
