Around this time last year I was mentally preparing myself (and very excited) about having this procedure done! I was already trying to eat healthier and had lost some weight from my 220 pounds. I was hoping that I would at least lose 50 pounds after the surgery. I arrived at San Diego and was met by the person to take us to the motel within 15 minutes of arriving at the airport. We safely got to the motel, checked in by the wonderful staff, and settled in for the night. The next day we met with the doctors and I had my surgery by Dr. Hernandez. I woke up from surgery and quickly regretted my decision...but that was the anesthesia talking and within an hour I was happy to begin a my new lifestyle change. I did a lot of walking, and the staff there at the hospital was super nice and wonderful. The facility was extremely clean, and I work at a hospital so I know what to look for! My husband who doesn t know Spanish was treated great by the staff there, and never did we feel unsafe or inconvenience! Everyone there is amazing and helpful! They even take you out for a couple of hours to shop (yay). The same man who picked us up took us back to the airport with no detours or problems. They kept up with me when I arrived home and made sure I was doing well and recovering as expected. I started to notice that I was losing weight, but not drastically but not slow like when I ve tried to lose weight on my own. Fast forward to today, and I weigh 136. From 203 to today! I feel great, I can do cart wheels, clothes fit amazing again, and I m happy and regained my confidence in myself! I never would ve believed that I d be back to this size from when I was in high school after I had my son. I m finally maintaining my weight and haven t lost anymore, it s been 2 months since I ve stopped losing. I know it sounds scary going to Mexico, but it s not! Best decision I ve ever made, and would highly recommend it to anyone! Actually I have to quite a few people, and have talked to others over the phone who have questions about it!
