Hi my name is Angela and i'm from Halifax Nova Scotia Canada. I had the Gastric Sleeve procedure January 30, 2012 with Dr Almanza in Tijauna Mexico. I was 272 lbs the day of my surgery and I now weigh 218 lbs! I got a lot of negative feed back from people when I told them I had decided to do this half way around the world especially when I told them I was going it alone! However it was the best experience and choice I have ever made for myself. The staff at the Jerusalem Hospital and the Recovery House were outstanding!! They went out of their way to help me and make me feel welcome and comfortable. I worked in my local Hospital for 6 years and can honestly say that the care I got in Mexico was ten times better then what I would have received in my own. I felt totally safe travelling and shopping threw out Mexico there was always someone with me and they were more than happy to take me anywhere I wanted to go. The Hospital and the Recovery house were spotless and I would know because I was a cleaner for fifteen years! Dr. Almanza was friendly and knowledgable and made me feel totally at ease before my surgery and I can't say enough good things about the nurse at the recovery house Severo, he has seven years experience as a ICU Nurse and the bed side manner of an angel, he totally made the trip to Mexico for me, he was the cherry on top!!
I wish I would have done this years ago but that's the only regret I have, so if you're thinking about doing this do it, do it now and know that you're in excellent hands with Dr. Almanza and the staff at the Jerusalem Hospital.
