I went to Tijuana for my surgery. I brought my aunt with me for emotional support. Met a fantastic group of people who had surgery the same day. We keep in touch via Facebook still. Recovering from surgery is the worst part, as I expected. The gas pain is awful. Gotta walk as much as possible post op to relieve this pain. Went home a couple days later. Diet restrictions were tough because I was still mentally hungry. This phase is when I really started to deal with my food addiction. I never ate super unhealthy I just ate a lot. Now I can't do that and I feel great. I am about 9 months post op and feel amazing. My whole life has changed for the better. So much more energy and joy for life. I didn't even realize I was depressed before, but know now since I'm so happy. My anxiety is better. No more mood swings. Plus, I have this amazing body now. I went from a size 16 to a size 0. 215 lbs to now at 118lbs. Anyone considering this surgery I would recommend doing it. The biggest draw backs are the pain and diet restrictions pre op and post op. The hospital is a nice and secure building. They did have some trouble during my time for not properly cleaning equipment but have since remedied the problem. No one I know of has any complications post op.
