The doctor and his team were excellent. Unfortunately, through no fault of their own, one of my surgery wounds got infected when I returned to Canada. My doctor and cardiologist were stunned by the results, they were dramatic. I no longer need cholesterol or blood pressure medication. My blood sugar, which has been out of control for years, has been cut in half from 19 to 11. My healing has been delayed because of the infected wound and my type 2 diabetes so it is taking longer for me to get active. I will start shortly. My stomach is taking longer than usual to adapt. My doctor believes I will be fully recovered in late August, and can then be much more active. In the first 5 weeks I lost 50 lbs, which is dramatic and exceptional. I have since then gained a little weight but that is to be expected as you learn to manage protein sources and the adaptation of your body to a stomach that is 85% smaller. I am now beginning to tailor my diet according to more vegetarian principles, which will greatly limit fat intake without limiting protein intake. Because of my great number of medical complications which include, Type II Diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol and sugar it is taking longer to see healing. BUT my blood pressure ALREADY has dropped from a difficult to maintain 130-140/90-100 to 117-123/60-70. I am going to live a lot longer because of Dr. Almanza and his wonderful crew. That doesn't mean that this is a magic pill, but my chances of total remission and a longer life are now much better, and there is hope, thanks to Dr. Almanza and the clinic and of course "weightlossagents.com".
