They were able (and willing) to answer every single question. They also guide you through each step.
I m certain if you look all over the internet you can find good and bad about anything. For me, this was absolutely the best choice.
Dr. Almanza was very honest with me that my case wasn t going to be simple. He promised me to try to do what I wanted, but if the band had caused too much damage he would stop.
He didn t give up on me, and fixed the damage.
I can now eat things that made me very ill with the band. (Vegetables are a big part of that). Being able to eat healthier along with having the sleeve as a tool is what helps drive success.
I flew into San Diego and was met by the hired driver. Immediately I gained new family members in that van. My daughter went with me and everyone helped each other.
We drove across the border to a local resort. Once checked in, the nurses made sure our rooms were stocked with pre surgery diet requirements. Even the restaurant there made sure we had broth and our guests could enjoy a nice meal too.
The van driver was there for any needs. He took my daughter and others to eat while they waited on us.
On surgery day, we rode over to the hospital together. The facility is brand new and very clean. I was the first patient to stay in my room.
During surgery my daughter was updated constantly. This was a big help since my husband was home.
My nurses were amazing. They helped keep me comfortable and checked on us often.
The next morning we were taken back to the resort. Nurses made rounds often and I was able to rest comfortably.
The next day, I had my 3rd dye test. That was also fun to go with my new friends and we all got our x rays to bring home.
I flew home late that evening.
Rules- if you are considering this procedure, please understand it won t help you if you won t follow the rules. It s hard to stay on a liquid diet. It s hard to ease your body back into foods. It s necessary for you to do that to not cause damage.
Good luck to all!
