I have always been the "fatty" in my family and it started to weigh on me - pun intended. Not only was my health at risk, but so was my self-esteem, confidence, social life, career, and future. Life is hard and it's even harder when you're overweight. I remember the diet pills, the exercise machines, the gym memberships, the laxatives... All of it, nothing seemed to work. Well, at least not for me. I'm sure many of you can relate! I'd had ENOUGH. The feeling of not being good enough finally broke me and I started doing extensive research on Bariatric surgery. Who knew it'd be the best decision I'd ever make?

I first heard about Dr. Almanza from my cousin. Her friend from college visited him last March (2014) for the surgery and so I began communicating with her. She told me everything I needed to know and told me she'd even go with me! Even though she'd never met me. I started Googling Dr. A and the hospital that day. I probably Googled enough info to last me a lifetime! If I was going to Tijuana, Mexico then I was going to learn EVERYTHING I needed. Well, I had nothing to fear! The staff with Dr. A and Weight Loss Agents were absolute angels!!

It took about 2 months for me to fully commit to this surgery and once I got the approval confirmation, I made the set-in-stone decision to actually do this. My surgery date was February 20th, 2015! That's when I scheduled anyway. Once I got to the facility the pre-op committee asked me if I'd like to have my surgery that day so I said yes. Why not!? The recovery was as expected and the nursing staff is amazing! Hotel Real Del Rio is really nice and their staff is great, too. All in all, it was the best decision of my life and Dr. Almanaza is an extremely talented surgeon! No regrets! XOXOXO
