I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I also dealt with infertility. After years of battling with both, I finally decided to have weight loss surgery after many failed attempts at dieting. I was pleased with the process with weight loss agents, and knew they were reputable because my mother had surgery with them four years prior. If I could give one criticism it would be that there is room for improvement with their organizational skills. I was asked to provide my flight information multiple times even though I had placed in on the patient portal. There was also organizational mishaps while I was in Mexico, mostly when being cared for at the hotel. The times that the nurses where supposed to be by the rooms was never correct, and I received multiple different instructions from different nurses in how I could/should care for my wounds, diet, and so on. The interaction with the doctors and nurses where pleasant, and the surgery went well with no complications. I am doing well, now three months post-op and am down 65 lbs. I would recommend to anyone getting this surgery to make sure you have a doctor in your hometown that is aware of you having this procedure and willing to care for you when you return. I have not had any complications, but just trying to establish a new primary care doctor has been a nightmare because doctors here don't want the "risk" of taking care of a patient that had a surgery out of the country. I think this is something that should be incredibly stressed by weight loss agents and maybe even required before coming to have the surgery. I can only imagine what I would have went through had I had complications.
