I had set various weight milestones and 220 was one of them. Yesterday, I was at 219! I am working for the next milestone at 210 then 200. The weight loss has slowed to about 5 lbs a month but if that continuous I should be under 200 within the 12 month anniversary of the surgery. I walk about 2.5 miles a day and began doing a modified version of T-25 aerobics (4-5 days a week). It has really helped develop my body core the past 30-45 days for a person my age. I have lost 14" in my waist and have gone through several wardrobe changes in the past 6 months.
I had my annual physical in November which brought a huge smile to my doctors face. He congratulated me as he shared my weight graph on a computer screen for the past 10 years. I quit taking blood pressure medicine right after the surgery and BP is down to 122/74, cholesterol is 179, and testosterone is now normal. Wow, I have really come to realize what a blessing losing this weight has been for me. My son is extremely proud knowing that I will live to see him provide me some grandchildren one day. In December we went bird hunting in Kansas and we walked quite a bit daily with zero issues for me.
The bottom line is that I eat much less, really can eat anything out there, and eat frequently. I keep fresh fruits, sugar free Popsicles and puddings, and water available at all times. When I go out to eat there normally is a to go box coming back with me. Please read what others have said about their journey and make a decision that benefits you!
This link will take you to a previous testimony 29 days after my initial surgery. I made a mistake on the testimonial date and it should have been July 18, 2014 not July 8, 2014.
