I would highly recommend this procedure, physician, and facility to ANYONE that is considering having gastric sleeve. My husband had this same procedure 10 months ago and has lost 168lbs and looks and feels better than he has in years. I HAD Type II Diabetes, High blood pressure, and high cholesterol for years. I had also developed neuropathy in my legs and feet so bad that I would literally sit and cry in pain. After seeing my husbands success with the procedure, I decided to have it done too. Since the day of surgery, I have NOT taken any medications other than for hypothyroidism. We are hoping that in time, this will correct itself as well. I was sleeved 2/22/18 by Dr Almanza. I was successful in losing 15lbs on the liquid diet and have since lost an additional 10lbs in 2 weeks. My clothes are ALL fitting differently and the inches are melting off. I had a wonderful experience with most of the employees at the hospital. We had fantastic care while in the hospital with the exception of one male nurse that apparently did not have time to care for the patients. He felt it was more important to sleep on the couch during his shift with us rather than care for the patients. "Mr. Handsome" otherwise known as Sebastian, Dany, and several others definitely made a huge impact on us while we were there. I only experienced nausea and vomiting on the day after surgery, but it soon passed and the remainder of my stay was very pleasant. Did not have to worry about any language barriers because everyone spoke good English. Only had 1 housekeeper that did not speak English, but we were still able to communicate. I LOVED my experience at Grand View Hospital, Dr ALmanza and staff, and most of the drivers were fantastic. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place!!!!
