I have always been heavy. I was diagnosed with PCOS shortly before I was to get married and was told I would never have children at the age of 20. After 4 1/2 years of trying, we finally had a precious girl. Over the years I gained even more weight and was ounces from 300 pounds. I knew I had to do something because I wanted to be a positive role model for my then 10 year old daughter. I had the sleeve surgery with Dr. Almanza in August 2015. Within 6 months I hit my weight goal and weighed 160 pounds! My OB/GYN told me that since I've lost alot of weight my PCOS was controlled and I could become more fertile. Well the next month I found out I was pregnant! No stressful fertility treatments or depression from the monthly negative pregnancy tests. Our miracle boy was on his way! He is now a happy, healthy 7 month old beautiful baby boy. This surgery has changed my life, for the positive, in so many ways. If I had to, I'd do it all over again with Dr. Almanza and his team.
