I have to say that almost everybody I dealt with was amazing on my journey, unfortunately there was one person that made me a little upset (Claire@weightlossagents) but considering that everybody else was so nice, I guess it balanced out. Getting into mexico was a piece of cake and we went right away to the hospital to do our blood work and check our blood pressure. That doctor was so nice and his assistant was very pleasant! The only thing about the hospital was the walk- way up to the 3rd floor was a little steep. My mom came with me and she uses a cane, so it was a little hard for her to make it but we did. After that got shuttled to the room (which is only around the block from the hospital)which was nice. The room was standard but nice. The next day we were to be downstairs waiting for our shuttle back to the hospital at 6:30am. We got to the hospital they gave me my gown and I waited for Dr. Almanza to come meet with us, he explained the procedure and then I was the first to go back and make my change of life! They took me to another area of the hospital, then to the operating room where they administered the anesthesia and to be honest I was OUT!!! Next thing I knew I woke up and was sent to recover area for the rest of that day/evening. The staff was checking on everybody every hour or so, taking our blood pressure and giving us new bags (saline) for hydration. We were encouraged to walk around as much as possible. Some people didn't have any problems at all, I was having a little light headedness but I got up to walk around. I met some really nice people who had other surgeries that day and we were all walking around together. Then the next morning we woke up and got shuttled over to the hotel, from there I still had my IV and the nursing station told me to take a shower and they would redress my incisions when I was done. Me and my mom walked around later that day and it was ok, I did get a little tired toward the middle of the day and we took a taxi back to the hotel. The restaurant gives you water, juice, broth and popsicles, so me and mom ate together and then retired to the room. On the day before we left they took us to another hospital/clinic to check if we had any leaking going on, that little drink was hard to swallow but they give you the x-ray there. One other side note would be to have a before and after x-ray but I'm sure that would be to much to ask for but just saying. Then later that day they took my IV out and my pouch (leakage)and I think that was the worst of my time! I think it was fine but I made it a little more dramatic, lol. Next day we were on our way home, waited for awhile in line at the border but everything was good, the flight back I tried to move around but ended up falling asleep on the plane. That was me journey and now I'm home and trying to follow the diet plan but honestly a little ahead of myself because without some food I was getting light headed again, but with just a little bit of soft food I've been ok. Trying to intake my liquids and just make the best decisions I can!! I would love to THANK Daphanie and her family for helping my mom in and out of the van. My mom said the only thing she would add from her point of view was to put bars in the van to help people in and out. Also to all the others I met out there, Good luck and if you find me keep in touch!!!!
