It s clear to me that this operation has changed my life, and will allow me to be healthier, and live longer. Dr. Almanza and his team may be the most experienced in the entire world at performing the vertical sleeve gastrectomy, and the nurses and support staff were excellent. I am glad that I went through it.

In my case, I was asked to follow the pre-op diet for three days before the operation, but I understand how important it was to the operation, so I followed it for 10 days. That being said, the operation was amazingly smooth, with almost no recovery time; the operation was on Wednesday, September 20th, and I was already back the following Monday.

In the first few days following the operation, I occasionally felt a bit of heartburn, but not too bad. I have now started to include more solid foods, and my life has otherwise returned to normal. I have already lost 30 pounds, including 15 from the pre-op diet. I now continue to lose weight at a steady pace.
