Well first ill start with saying that obesity has been a problem in my family and myself my entire life. Even in elementary school I was always the biggest kid. But with the size also came success with my athletic ability"being great at everything"so it was easy for me to over look. As my life started to develop so did my infatuation with food. Before I knew it I was that 350lbs. High school kid that was shy and conservative with everything. After high school I found myself a career with my favorite thing in life FOOD. With the expansion of my knowledge for food also came the expansion of my pants size from in the 40s to in the 50s. I beleive that the extensive work schedule keep me just active enough to be able to maintain and get by for many years. But at the age of 30 I decided to venture into owning my own business of catering and street vending and left the hard grind of kitchen life and working for others. At first everything was a total success and I thought that I may just had found my calling in life until May 05 of 2005 when I woke up hospitalized after being in a severe car accident. While in the hospital blood work discovered diabetes and in out of control levels and the Dr's would not release me. Little did I know how much my life would change from that day on. The next 8 years were nothing but Dr's discovering one disease after another including " high blood pressure, cholesterol, sleep apnea,hypertension and congestive heart failure". With my weigh gain of 600lbs plus and the new heart disease issuses my mind was made the final straw had been drawn. I started investigating weight loss surgery. At first I was very discouraged thinking there was no way I would be able to afford the procedure without insurance. Until I seen Dr. Almanzas site for affordable surgery and looked into it. Although very reluctant to pursue an adventure into Mexico I was at a no choice situation in my life. It was to choose to gamble with Mexico or choose death. I think I watched and read every testimonial available for Dr. Almanza and liked everything I seen and heard. So I made the call and it was the BEST decision I ever made in my life. Since late January of 2013 until now August 12 of 2013 I have managed to have nearly taking off 200lbs. With a lite regiment of exercise and a completely controled diet Im a new and refreshed human being. Dr Almanza SAVED my life and im forever grateful for this. Even though I still have a long road ahead of me and alot more goals with my health I now know its possible and am more determined than ever to be the happy, healthy individual I know I can be. After 8 years of injecting diabetes medicine twice a day I finally don't have to anymore.so I guess I'm trying to say is for anybody who is debating on having the surgery Dr Almanza and his staff we're beyond professional and friendly. And the decision to use his services and hospital was the best decision I've ever made my life....
