Now I'm starting my 3rd week out, I've lost 22 pounds and have had no problems dealing with the graduated liquid diet. There is always my mind telling me I want to eat but the nice part about having surgery is, at least for now, I CAN'T and that helps with the mental side of food.
I went to the Tijuana Bariatric Center and everyone was very nice. I wish some spoke a little more English or I had a little time to brush up on my Spanish but there were about 12-13 others sleeved on the same day as me so we became our own little family.
I was only at the "hospital" for about 18 hours then to the hotel which was very nice. A little more information for the recovery days would have been nice like how much should we drink, how often would we get an IV bag of fluids, when was the drain line being removed etc but otherwise they were helpful and available as needed.
I was back to work the day after I got back from Mexico but it took probably through the weekend to really feel more like myself. The patient portal has been great, they respond quickly to even the silliest questions although I'm sure they are getting the same questions from lots of people.
I'm not sure what the end result will be but for now I do not regret my decision and I look forward to a new, healthier life!!
