It has been two months since my surgery and I am so glad I did it. It was a bit scary, going across the boarder to have surgery, but all in all it was a good experience. I had a favorite nurse, Alex, while at the hotel and met some amazing ladies who were also having surgery the same day and who I keep in constant contact with. Surgery is never fun and never painless, but overall it was quite manageable. I was not prepared for how much I would burp. Oh. My. Gosh! The first month was embarrassing! That has totally calmed down - thank goodness. The best part is I have been following the food plan laid out pretty closely and I am down from 248 to 204 - yes 44# in 2 months. I feel better than I have in years. My knees no longer hurt and my planters fasciitis is no longer hurting me. I am also being active. I walk my dog almost every day and for over a month now I have gotten 10000 steps or more 6 days a week! Exercise is important. I have been walking since I got back from Mexico and have been going to the gym since 6 weeks post surgery. I am 1/2 way to my weight goal. I am down from a size 18-20 plus to a lose 14 so far... worth it. I just have to keep reminding myself it is ok to not clear my plate - I can't anymore! I am still surprised how little I eat at a time, but I do make sure to eat 6 times a day. :)
