This experience is one that will stay with me for the rest of my life. After two decades of being severely morbidly obese, I finally realized that something more drastic was going to have to happen in order for me to live a longer life. I'd tried all sorts of diets, fasting, prescriptions, and other than losing at the most 80 pounds before gaining it right back, I accepted that I would just be big for the rest of my life. I didn't like it, but I felt there was nothing that I could do about it. After six months of doing nothing and then hopping on a scale I couldn't believe that I was 100 pounds heavier. I'd had enough. I got to thinking about my nieces and nephews and it made me angry at myself to think that at the rate I was going, that I wouldn't live to see them grow up and get married and have babies of their own. Digging a little deeper, I realized that I was still young enough to have my own children someday. I'd finally had enough and went online. After a lengthy process of trying to get insurance to pay for my surgery (which they did not), I found weightlossagents.com was the best bet for me. It was half the cost of having it done in Oklahoma (where I'm from) and the surgical table was able to support my weight. A lot of locations will not do more than a 60-65 body mass index and will have you lose down to that weight area before doing anything else. I didn't want to wait any longer than I absolutely had to so I chose Hospital Jerusalem. And I am so grateful I did. The staff is amazing, the place is small, but very clean, and I was able to head home two days after my surgery. It's been a week and I feel amazing. I was lucky that it took so well. I didn't have hardly any pain other than needing to take Gas X strips for gas pressure in my stomach from the surgery.
If anyone is interested in having this procedure done, do it. May it change your life for the better!
