Last year my friend got the gastric sleeve procedure done and I observed the massive change in her and most of all the positive change to her personality. I knew this is what I had to do. The morning of my surgery I weighed in at 224 pounds. I am 5 5 and a 1/2 and have a small frame so the extra weight was difficult for my knees and feet and back.
I had my surgery on April 5th and even now 21 days later I feel so much better. My clothes are fitting better and I know I am healthier already. I am beginning to feel enthusiastic about doing things.Currently I am down 23 pounds. I am 27.3 % toward my total goal weight already.
This morning I took my dog for a walk and I enjoyed it rather than looking upon it like a job. I give myself little rewards, after the first 20 pounds of weight loss, I went and got my hair cut and colored. I have received so many compliments.
This past weekend, we celebrated my brothers 75th birthday and I thought it would be very hard around all the food. I managed very well. Today is my birthday and friends were going to cancel the dinner they had planned and I urged them to go ahead with it. I will call the restaurant and make sure they have a creamy soup, and I will have jello for dessert and tea and water to drink and I will feel good about it.
I have been to my family doctor and he was impressed. He ordered blood tests to ensure there is a good balance with my minerals. I am on medication for thyroid and high blood pressure and he already told me that I may need my dosage adjusted and can look forward to getting off the high blood pressure pills.
I am hesitant to put any pictures on as yet but perhaps next month I will. I have nothing but good things to say about the care I received by the Doctors nurses and medical team. For any one thinking about this surgery I would highly recommend it. It will make the world of difference in your life.
